What People Are Saying

“For over a decade, Ben Gordon has been my go-to dog trainer for everything from puppy rearing to preparing my competition dog for international travel for the Mondioring World Championships. As a seasoned trainer, Ben has a unique gift of providing clear, consistent and patient communication to both the dog and (most importantly) the human. I wholeheartedly recommend Ben for anyone who is committed to establishing a meaningful relationship with their dog.”

“Working with Ben over the past year has been like having a true mentor in how to understand and support my dog. Before training, I often felt unsure of my choices. Now I feel grounded, confident, and equipped with a clear process that actually works. The progress has been consistent because Ben teaches patience and understanding, not shortcuts. I’m grateful for the way he trains the human as much as the dog.”

“Ben Gordon has been a godsend to my husband, our two dogs, and me.

We adopted a dog, Leroy, with LOTS of anxiety and dog aggression (but he was also very loving!). Due to the success we had with Ben and our first dog, Cooper, we decided to try with Leroy. Ben brought out Leroy‘s playfulness and good nature. The sessions were fun, but also very rigorous and we had to do our homework in between sessions. It was great to see Leroy relax and blossom. We began to understand each other a lot more, and we bonded in a way that I hadn’t thought was possible.

My biggest takeaway from training with Ben has been that consistency is key. My previous experience with dog trainers with previous dogs was often unpleasant. Ben uses motivational training techniques. He is a pleasure to work with. He brings joy to the training. The sessions are fun!

We have to do our homework and uphold our part of the bargain, and I guess that’s why it works so well - everyone gets to learn and work toward success, and we’re all proud of each other. It’s a never ending process, and a very rewarding one.“- Cat Koshkin

“I came to Ben with a high drive puppy. Ben was patient and encouraging with me and Daisy. He has given training tools that I fall back on often. We would not be where we are today without Ben's expertise.”

Ben helped us pick out Stella and we quickly realized that we knew NOTHING about raising a lab! Combine our lack of knowledge with a puppy who woke up daily choosing violence….and you’ll get the full picture. From day one Ben guided us with his patience and genuine love for Stella (our pup).

Not only did he help us understand her behavior, but he provided us the tools and skills necessary help Stella thrive and grow into an excellent citizen. He gave me easy training words that I “mostly” remember and he constantly reminds me that all things are not perfect. Ben never made me feel stupid for asking questions (I had a ton of them). He answered them in a way that made sense, Ben’s calm structured approach made my crazy puppy manageable and the progress that we have made has been astounding,

Stella is an excellent citizen that I can take anywhere. Ben is wicked smart and his ability to train the human is outstanding, He told me that putting in the hard work, being patient and being consistent will pay off in the end. I highly recommend him!

After we rescued Ziva from the shelter, she started to reveal several challenging behaviors that brought a high level of stress into our lives. I sought help from at least four different dog trainers. I read blogs, listened to podcasts, and subscribed to online groups to figure out what I could do. By the time I found Ben, I had learned a jumble of approaches and games and strategies, but I was still lost and stressed about Ziva’s behaviors. Ben cut through the noise and laid out a clear path to follow. His ability to articulate the what, how, and why of his methodology was a huge relief, and helped me build both understanding and confidence around my relationship with my dog. Most importantly, the process of trying to “undo” the behaviors that Ziva came with helped me grasp how incredibly important it is to prevent unwanted behaviors from starting in the first place. I didn’t have that opportunity with Ziva, and I will never take it for granted with another dog. And I can’t wait to raise a puppy with Ben’s help someday!

Ben is hands-down the best dog trainer out there. He’s helped me wrangle not one, not two, but three high-octane working dogs—a Dutch Shepherd and two Malinois—which is basically the canine version of living with caffeinated velociraptors.

What really stands out (besides the results) is how much he genuinely loves the dogs. You can see it in how he works with them—patient, invested, and always in their corner.

Thanks to Ben, they’re not just well-trained, they’re actually enjoyable to be around (most of the time 😄). If he can handle my crew, he can handle anything. Highly recommend!
